Meet Gina
Regina Pinel, known to everyone as Gina, runs Gina's Galway Upholstery from her workshop at Carnmore Cross, just outside Galway city.
Gina believes good furniture deserves a second life. Rather than see a solid old sofa or a family heirloom go to the skip, she strips it back, repairs what needs repairing and re-covers it so it looks and feels new again. Re-upholster, recycle and revive.
Her work has won the RTÉ Late Late Show Antiques Special, and she has worked on pieces for well-known names including Sharon Shannon and Tommy Tiernan. Most of her work, though, is for families across Galway who want to keep the furniture they love.
