Sofa reupholstery in Galway

A good sofa frame can outlast several covers. Gina re-covers sofas and suites of every shape, replacing worn foam, springs and webbing along the way, so you get a sofa that looks new and sits properly again.

Reupholstering makes most sense when the frame is solid: well-made older sofas, family pieces, or a suite in a size or shape you can't easily replace. Send Gina a few photos and she'll tell you honestly whether it's worth doing.

Leather suites that have cracked or faded can be re-covered in fabric for a completely different look, and sometimes new cushions are all a sofa needs. Musician Sharon Shannon had her couch reupholstered by Gina and was "delighted with the beautiful result".

What Gina can do

  • Two- and three-seaters

Re-covered in the fabric of your choice, with new foam in the cushions if they've gone flat.

  • Corner sofas and suites

Matching chairs and footstools done at the same time so the whole room ties together.

  • Recliners

    Recliner sofas and chairs re-covered.

  • Leather to fabric

Tired, cracked leather suites given a new life in fabric.

  • Cushions only

If the frame and arms are fine, new cushions may be enough. See foam and cushion replacement.

  • Bespoke sofas

Seating built to measure for awkward spaces, from the frame up.

Questions

Is it worth reupholstering a sofa?

If the frame is solid, usually yes. Well-made older sofas often have sturdy frames and proper springs, and reupholstering keeps a piece you already like in a size that fits your room. If a sofa was cheaply made to begin with, replacing it can be better value. Gina will tell you honestly when you send photos.

Is it cheaper to reupholster or buy new?

It depends on the sofa. Compared with buying a new sofa of the same quality, reupholstering is often the better value. Compared with a budget sofa, it may not be. Our guide 'Reupholster or buy new?' explains how to decide.

How much does it cost to reupholster a couch?

Every sofa is different. The price depends on the size, how much fabric it needs, the fabric itself, and whether the foam, springs or frame need work. WhatsApp a few photos and rough measurements to 087 466 6974 for a quote.

Can you reupholster a leather sofa in fabric?

Yes. Worn leather suites can be re-covered in fabric for a completely new look.
